Hello there!  If you didn’t already know, I’m Tyler and on Earth Day, 2009, I made two commitments to myself:

  1. To better manage my money and improve the environment by recognizing and acting on opportunities which achieve both simultaneously.
  2. To maximize my first goal by teaching others how to do the same.

Frugally Green is all about gradually finding ways to make your life a more environmentally sustainable one while saving or even earning some dough along the way.  For far too long there have been two myths that have plagued the growth of the sustainability movement:

  1. It’s more expensive to incorporate sustainable measures into your life than to simply carry on as usual.
  2. Going green requires a large commitment to make any difference.

These two arguments have maintained themselves as giant barriers to entry to a sustainable life for good people who want to do the right thing, but don’t have the money or the time. The articles on Frugally Green are aimed at explaining just the opposite – that you don’t have the money or the time not to – by showing you where you can maximize your spending (and saving) to achieve the greatest long term savings and even earnings.

In the words of many wise men before me, the best time to start is yesterday. The second best time is today. Start gradually, but by all means, start.
