I couldn't agree more with your first point of more money giving people more options to give back. I also wanted to add another career option. Adding a telecommuting aspect to any job will make it greener since that will save the carbon emitted while driving. It also saves people money and time so, if you are a boss with no money for raises, allowing people to work at home a portion of the time is a great way to provide a no- to low-cost benefit.
